The Hennessy Academy

2015

In 2015, Hennessy celebrated their 250th anniversary with a large scale campaign across multiple channels, including a number of special products and digital initiatives. As Hennessy's digital agency of record in the United States, Odopod built a number of these products, including the Hennessy Academy — a responsive web portal to educate Hennessy customers of the craft, culture, and history of cognac.

Our Hennessy account team had been assessing the performance metrics of hennessy.com, built by Odopod in 2013 as a non-responsive site. Since the Academy would be a special microsite, and we were looking to modernize the hennessy.com architecture, the visual design team took the opportunity to establish new foundations for a pattern library, from typography to responsive grids and content modules.

I designed a number of key elements of the Academy, including the home page, dashboard, content modules, and quizzes. I also established the style guide and documentation standards, and worked closely with our development team on implementation.

The Academy was well-received by our clients at Moët-Hennessy and was honored with a Design Award by LVMH. As Odopod continued to modernize hennessy.com, the Academy framework and patterns served as the foundation, and was retained as an evergreen part of the Hennessy experience.
